RedLight Soother (PDT)

RedLight Soother treatment aids the rejuvenation of the skin and helps prevent photo ageing. It is particularly effective for those who have pigmentation concerns. It helps improve skin tone and smoothness, promoting healing after undergoing abrasive skin treatments, such as ablative laser resurfacing.

RedLight Soother treatment uses FDA-approved PDT technology and is suitable for those who wish to target problematic pigmentation and for those who wish to see an all-rounded rejuvenation of their skin. It works by targeting specific cells that are responsible for promoting the repair of the skin’s intrinsic structure. The specific wavelength used stimulates deeper skin tissue for in-depth rejuvenation. It is a highly comfortable treatment with zero-downtime, an attractive alternative or supplementary treatment to more invasive treatments for ageing and pigmented skin.

Vascular lesions and superficial pigmented lesions are common concerns. Such lesions are commonly known as dark spots, pimple marks, age spots, brown spots and other sun-damage related skin conditions. Those who are interested to treat such lesions may wish to undergo this treatment.

This skin treatment is available at our aesthetics centres.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the treatment like?

The target area is first thoroughly cleansed and dried. Adequate eye protection is provided to protect the eyes from a prolonged period of light exposure. The target area is then exposed to our RedLight technology for about 20 minutes.

How long will it take before I am able to see results?

After just a single 20-minute session, pigmentation becomes visibly lighter, with the skin immediately appearing brighter due to the rejuvenating effect of the treatment, which initiates the skin repair process. For optimal results, we recommend treatment 1-2 times a week with a total of between 6-10 sessions, depending on the severity of the skin’s condition.

Who is suitable for this treatment?

Most people are suitable for this gentle yet effective treatment. ClearSK’s RedLight Soother is safe even for dark skin tones with minimal risks of hyperpigmentation. However, people with light sensitivity or light phobia should undergo this treatment with caution.

What complementary treatments boost treatment results?

Are there any side effects from the treatment?

You may experience a “mild sunburn” sensation post-treatment as the skin is exposed to the RedLight for 20 minutes. The sensation will disappear within 24 hours, but the treated area may be tender for a few days.

Is there any post-treatment care you would advise?

We strongly advise customers to avoid direct sun exposure, and to consistently apply moisturiser and sunblock of at least 30 SPF. In addition, exfoliating treatments or abrasive procedures should be avoided for a week after the treatment. For homecare, we recommend ClearSK’s Whiten Skincare Series to prolong the treatment results.
