LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation: a laser is a focused beam of monochromatic light that is capable of targeting a problem area on the skin (eg brown spot, veins or unwanted hair follicle) and destroying just the specific pigment or tissue while sparing the skin around it.
Your doctor will assess your skin and problem areas before recommending the best treatment for you.
Different lasers are used for different purposes, and we specialise in integrating lasers with different depths and wavelengths to give you the best results.
N laser program uses FDA-certified gold standard of 532 and 1064 nm wavelengths to target epidermal pigments or melanin. Precise & clinical light shots are delivered onto the treated area quickly with high & intense energy. These intense pulses of laser energy are then absorbed by the treated area, resulting in the breakdown of the formed pigments into smaller pigments and eventually, the elimination of the pigments by the body’s natural lymphatic system.
Pigments that can be treated include freckles, sunspots, superficial dyschromias on the surface of the skin. N laser can also be used on certain birthmarks like nevus of Ota, ABNOM, cafe au lait spots and dark coloured tattoos.
While targeting your pigmentation at spot areas, ClearSK Laser treatment can also help to minimize pores and decrease the appearance of fine lines and facial rejuvenation. These results will sustain with repeated treatments.
Prior to starting treatment, a mild anaesthetic cream could be applied on the area of the skin to be treated for 10-15 minutes before the laser session. The skin is then cleansed thoroughly to remove makeup and skin debris. Eye googles are worn and then laser pulses are applied to the areas of the skin to be treated. Treatment can be done 3-4 weekly during treatment phase and 2-3 monthly during maintenance phase.
If your busy schedule does not allow for any post laser downtime, we can adjust use our pigment lasers settings that can gradually lighten your pigmentation over several sessions and yet allow you to pop straight to lunch after treatment. If you prefer a more aggressive treatment over fewer sessions, we can adopt a faster approach which might have some downtime.
Most common pigmented lesions can be reduced with 3-6 sessions. However, if the pigmentation covers a large area, you may prefer to have it treated on several stages to avoid unnecessary discomfort.
N lasers is suitable for people with almost all skin tones and skin types. However if you have inflammatory skin conditions, very sensitive and dry skin, epilepsy, light phobia, light sensitivities, open skin wounds, pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult our doctors first.
We would recommend our ClearSK®️ pigment treatment series to help you achieve faster and better results, as well to maintain the effects for a longer time. For example, you might wish to try our
Pigment laser is not painful, and sensation is akin to the snap of a thin rubber band and you may experience warm sensation during and after the procedure. Any discomfort usually goes away within few hours. Occasionally, if high energy is used to target specific spots, crusting or pinpoint bleeding may occur due to skin reaction during pigment breakdown. Sometimes the pigment may darken before lightening. For those with darker skin tone, temporary hypopigmentation may occur. You should discuss with your doctor whether you might develop such reactions and how to prevent them.
Avoiding strong sunlight and a good sunscreen protection is highly recommended. Treated area should be kept clean but exfoliators or facial scrubs should be avoided for at least 7 days. Post treatment kit will be prescribed to enhance treatment process and provide necessary protection.
