Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the treatment like?

Each treatment lasts about 40 minutes with a cooling gel applied onto the skin before a pulse of light is administered. The pulse may feel like a mild ant bite each time it is administered and mild flushing of the skin may be observed after the treatment, which is temporary.

How long will it take before I am able to see results?

Instant radiance, brightening may be seen after 1 session. We recommend that customers undergo between 6-8 sessions, at intervals of 1-2 weeks for the best results. More sessions may be required for moderate to severe pigmentation.

Who is suitable for this treatment?

Anyone with mild to moderate pigmentation can undergo this treatment. However, this treatment is not suitable for those with dark skin (dark brown to black) and those with a history of photosensitivity. If you are on a high dosage of Roaccutane, please inform our medi-aestheticians before undergoing the IPL-Plus Whiten treatment. Those with dark skin can opt for Lazer Whiten Facial or Lazer Whiten Facial.

What complementary treatments boost treatment results?

Are there any side effects from the treatment?

Some customers may experience a mild burning sensation; temporary flushing, slight bruising and discolouration of the skin, however all are short-lived effects of the treatment. There is also no downtime and hardly any interruption to the customer’s routine.

Is there any post-treatment care you would advise?

We strongly advise customers to avoid direct sun exposure, and to consistently apply moisturiser and sunblock of at least 30 SPF. In addition, exfoliating treatments or abrasive procedures should be avoided for a week after the treatment. For homecare, we recommend ClearSK’s Whiten Skincare Series to prolong the treatment results.
